Growing up..OR NOT!

Talking in rhymes; giggling forever
My piggy and me always sleeping together :)
Making bubbles through the straw while drinking my juice
Owning a pair of pretty pink shoes.
Crying EVERY time I watch the "Lion King"
Shouting out the lyrics instead of melodiously sing!
Drama all the way, when a little ill,
Pouring milk cautiously to avoid the spill.
Going to the park to sit on the swings
Jumping off the diving board pretending I have wings!!
The constant motion, the constant talk
Going with my girls for those super long walks!
Those animated gestures, those cheesy lines
The meaningless gossip, the wasteful whines!
Laughing out so loud, getting teary eyed
The innocent expressions; not too hard to find.
The one for sorrow and two for joy;
I grew out of my skirt, saved it like the rest of the toys!
Those hard cover books I couldnt let go,
Those letters, those cards, those notes I didnt throw.
Those first concert tickets ; the first boy ever
The first time an emotion that could send me the shiver!
Watching a horror movie and yelling out loud,
One day up on that stage making everyone proud.
Sneaking out in the middle of the night,
Knowing the consequence ... will be shot at sight :)
The crush, the date, the boy, the love
Doing the wrong and praying to god above!!
Nothing much has changed since I was younger
Im more aware, I agree; but isnt age just a number??
