Milestones like engagements, birthdays, and anniversaries are simple reminders of how short life is, of how we need to step out of our daily routines to appreciate each other and how we need to ensure that we don’t go unnoticed (not just to each other but to everyone else around us). But what strikes me is that we always step out of our daily routines to appreciate each other without waiting for that socially apt moment. And I’m sure even though I don’t always say it out loud; my love for you is the basis of every conversation with and about you. So today is no different than what it was two months ago to what it will be in the future. Let us make an effort to leave the Engagement (day), Birth (day), Wedding (day) for others and keep the moments for us.
